Do I have to be filled only once, and is that all that is necessary? Being filled (controlled) by the Spirit is a moment by moment ministry of the Holy Spirit, but it must have a beginning. That is why you are told to “present your bodies” to God. You remain filled by being obedient to the Spirit’s commands. Broken fellowship is restored by confesisng that disobedience to God (I John 1:9). Why must I depend upon the Holy Spirit? It is through His ministry that you grow spiritually. God has a will and a plan for every life.
