Around the time of World War II, it was the Twin-Q Restaurant, which was so elegant that people would drive from Detroit to eat there. But what the Goat lacks in elegance, it makes up for in ambience, the Goat Burger (not actually made from goat), and one of the coolest bar names ever.

First settled by Ralph Fowler in 1836, it was initially called Cedar but eventually came to be named for its first permanent resident. Sweet Sensations. Continuing a tradition started in 1946 by George and Elen Spagnulo, Sweet Sensations, in Fowlerville, is the perfect place to get a sugar fix. Echoing the legendary Spagnulo candy karma, Les and Sherry Pardee restored the building, where they now handcraft delicious treats, sometimes even using the original chocolate molds. Deciding between the chocolate-covered marshmallows, the peanut brittle, or the dark raspberry creams can be tough.
